Well that is the issue currently that really made me dread what the intentions were from the DISD from the start. The size of a sculpture that size needs a good solid base for support. When I went down for the hardhat tour, there was no sign of a base anywhere around the school. Especially where it was originally to the renovation work. This forced me to conclude that the Pegasus was not going to be returned to the space it was originally. Not to jump the gun, we all checked with the DISD and they said they intended on bringing it back. Then later they stated that they didn't have it in the budget to return it to it's rightful place. So with out budget we can't get it moved. Fine, we get the budget to move and repair it then there is no debate with the DISD over the sculpture. It needs to be returned to it's original place at the school. It will run around 10k to do all of it based on estimates. Going to try and talk to Commercial Metals about donating metal. I think that a lot of the community would also back us up on this, not just alumni... do we have any connections in the DMN or Observer that would wright a few lines about this? I know there are those out there that actually helped building Pegasus with Mr. Daniels... Class of '86 and before I think? I just missed out on being a part of the project. We really need to all come together on this and make sure that DISD doesn't pull any crap and go back on their word also. Get the kids and parents involved. If we got all parents to donate just 20 bucks, that would be a huge help. 2. Get a cause on facebook or maybe a paypal account? and have all alum donate whatever they can. *Ean can you get info on what we need to do*. 3. I am going to see how commercial metals might be able to help. They have been the supplier for scrap metal to the sculpture dept since for ever. Loosing the Pegasus is a very real threat and it is very typical of Dallas to erase every bit of history that it has to replace it with something less than what it was. We can't drag our heals on this. I would recommend that all alumni that have ideas on this, pick up the cause and fight for our history. I will report to everyone on this. Erik A. I am ready to help keep the Pegasus and get it moved back to it's rightful place. I also know of many current students that will offer their support along with their parents - they may be new to the school's history, but they are dedicated to preserving their time too. So, what's the next step?
