Guys...please please remove me from your e-mail list.  I live out of state and will check the website for updates.  I cannot continue to have my e-mail box filled to the brim with these messages.  Please help me out.  Thanks!

Erik, thanks, tonight at the meeting, will you guys formally motion and vote on supporting this so that the alumni association can officially move on its behalf....if you all so choose.

I realize it's a formality, but, with the exception of the decision to raise money for his return, there at least needs to be an amendment to proceed with any other type of action.

Right now, we're just a group of individual crazy pegasus followers vying for our exiled leader to be returned home. ....

I'm all for making a  big deal out of this, staging a vigil with food and music, hanging signs on the fence in front of Pegasus now, making a documentary, whatever, and bringing PEGASUS home to sit in front of or on top of "the most unique school in Dallas" with an big unveiling.

FYI, these photos were taken today about 2pm.

And Robert is going to call Roger Richards, trying to get in touch with Jerry Daniels, the visual arts teacher that oversaw the creation of Pegasus .

Otis! That is an excellent thing! I will see if we can get metal donated and
maybe get different alumni welders do the work on it! Disd said budget was the
reason for no move so if we can resolve that we are doing great!

It does indeed make a great story for Observer, i can get that ball rolling and
get everyone a heads up.

Thanks

Hello all,

We may have a solution for this problem. I called Robert Cooper, class of 84,
and asked if he could help. His family, including Sean Cooper '89, runs
Allied Fences.

We just spoke, and they are willing to provide equipment and transportation. We
need to provide manpower, and secure permission from DISD. ( unless
everyone's down for a covert operation under the cover of darkness!!! )

When i told him how much DISD wanted, his response was "Are you %$#^ing
kidding me?"
So, we may be able to save the $$ for supporting student activities.

And yes, i agree this makes for a great story in the observer or DMN. Arts
Alumni pulling together to save Pegasus.

Ean, can you provide Robert with directions on how to join this list?
I have current photos of Pegasus, can i upload them to the list or somewhere
for all to see?

Last word from DISD, they will do it but need the $$$ to fund the project. I
know Erik has looked into alternatives and see what people can/will do for
free/cheap. I know we have alum contacts at the Observer and DMN. The Memorial
Day Weekend '09 will mainly go towards 'flying the Pegasus home'.
I'm looking forward to the update at tonight's meeting!

Count me in too!! I think that a lot of the community would also back us up on
this, not just alumni... do we have any connections in the DMN or Observer that
would wright a few lines about this?

I know there are those out there that actually helped building Pegasus with Mr.
Daniels... Class of '86 and before I think? I just missed out on being a
part of the project.

We really need to all come together on this and make sure that DISD doesn't
pull any crap and go back on their word also.

Sara I think you absolutely right for the next steps. Getting everyone involved
is key!

1. Get the kids and parents involved. If we got all parents to donate just 20
bucks, that would be a huge help.
2. Get a cause on facebook or maybe a paypal account? and have all alum donate
whatever they can. *Ean can you get info on what we need to do*.
3. I am going to see how commercial metals might be able to help. They have
been the supplier for scrap metal to the sculpture dept since for ever.

Loosing the Pegasus is a very real threat and it is very typical of Dallas to
erase every bit of history that it has to replace it with something less than
what it was.

We can't drag our heals on this. I would recommend that all alumni that
have ideas on this, pick up the cause and fight for our history.

I will report to everyone on this.

Sign me up! I am ready to help keep the Pegasus and get it moved back to
it's rightful place.

I also know of many current students that will offer their support along with
their parents - they may be new to the school's history, but they are
dedicated to preserving their time too.

So, what's the next step?
