We are getting down to the wire and I'm afraid that we are doing a rather woefully inadequate job of promoting the upcoming Memorial Day event.
I saw an inquiry on Facebook from Andie Plamondon Davis about putting together a meetup at the Dallas Arboretum on May 29th so I let she and the people she had mailed about the meetup know about the 22nd/23rd event. Clearly, however, we need to get the ball rolling.
With that in mind I have created events on the Arts Alumni group on Facebook as well as updating the Google Calendar. I would also create MySpace events if I knew the password to the MySpace account but someone seems to have changed it on me. This happened once in the past when someone changed it in the interest of security. If you updated the password please let me know what the new one is and we will get MySpace events set up as well.
There are about 600 people on the Facebook group but not everyone is on there. So everybody should also make sure their local circle of friends are aware of the event.
Additionally, Paige and co., if you have information about DJs, bands or anything else relevant to the event then go ahead and post it to the list so we can apply some pressure on getting people out. Time is of the essence because the event is weekend after next and plane tickets are already double cost (less than 21 days out).
That's all I have for now. Updates as they become available.
