Arts Magnet Alumni Association

Minutes; March 10, 2009; 6:00pm

• Members in Attendance: Ean Schuessler, Erik Schuessler, Emily Hill, Cece Howard, Paige Furr, Juliana Williams, Jennifer Roberts, Brian Nickerson, Teyah O’Quinn
• Treasurer’s Report-Paige Furr

• Online voting/polling: A decision was made that the BOD will come to a consensus on major issues and present that consensus to the alumni in a poll fashion through the website. The BOD will gather members opinions and this will drive the way the BOD votes.

• PO Box/mailing address: The school address (2501 Flora St, Dallas TX 75201) will be used for all Alumni Association dealings. There is a mailbox set-up in the teacher work room for the Alumni Association.
• 2009 Officers: New Officers and a new BOD was voted on.

• Memorial Day Weekend; May 22 & 23. (Juliana Williams-Chairperson)
  • Need to form committee. One rep from each cluster.
  • Friday, May 22: Formal Performance in MAT. Tech 4:30-7:00. Show at 8. Possible School Tours that day/afternoon. *will ask if each cluster wants representation in this show too.
  • Saturday, May 23: 10am-2pm Master Classes and school tours. Put call on website and have alumni ‘apply’ to teach class. Hold vote. $5-$10 to attend. Need to pay for Security and Custodians ($720- $300 custodian, $420 Security- 2 of each). Possibly need to pay for HVAC costs as well. Will be open to grad seniors and maybe juniors as space allows. Discussed having forums with reps from talent agencies, ReelFX, music and theater people. Art Show opening will take place this day too. Talked about offering donated gift cards in lieu of payment to people who teach class or run a panel/forum.
  • Saturday night. Event at Dada. Same set-up as Holiday Party.  Paige will chair the Sat night party.
